This fall my "Streets and Trips" Routed me over the Saw Mill Parkway.
As we entered at mile 43 from I684 we saw the sign no trucks so
continued on. We were aghast as we encountered some arched underpasses
with low clearances in the right lane. Cars behind us were blinking
their lights. We passed by a parked trooper with no encounter so
continued on. I had tried to research the Saw Mill Parkway prior to
the trip and found nothing regarding ANY restrictions. Any locals have
info?
PARKWAYS IN NEW YORK STATE are not built for RVs or trucks. STAY SAFE AND
DO NOT USE THEM, unless you want your roof taken off. This includes the
HUTCHINSON, TACONIC, SAW MILL, MERRITT and more.
However, you can use the GARDEN STATE PARKWAY with no problems in nearby NEW
JERSEY.
