Re: [DIY-CNC] Direct belt drive for 4'x8' torch table

Hi Marcin,

There are some free "plans" here:

http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16634

http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14488

You may need to register, but it's easy, free and no spam.

The first link uses chains and the second screws. There may be others at
CNCzone with belt or rack and pinion but I usually stick with looking at
router and mill threads. I'm pretty sure there were some router table builds
with belt. The chain and belt should be pretty similar on a torch table. The
only tables I see at my customer's sites are rack and (very worn out
usually) pinion. But these are multitorch, heavy gantry, dual drive tables
using DC brush servo and gearboxes. But working on burning table controls is
an insignificant part of my usual work.

The table on the link you posted looks suspiciously like a router table. I
don't think those slides would hold up well in a burning application.
