As has been mentioned before, you can not just put a new zerk fitting in the U-Joint and then lub --- that will force the little grits of dirt and sand that went into the opening into the bearings which will result in a failure of the U-Joint at a future date. I would replace both U-joints while they have the shaft out --- not any additional labor (maybe a little) and the U-joints should be about 100.00 each or lower. I had mine replaced at Cummins South and they were $76.00 each. I have a 2002 Winnebago Ultimate Advantage, 350 HP Cummins, Allison 6 speed. The replacement was last November so the cost on the U-joints should not be that far off.
